What to do in Poland: Hike to the peak of Trzy Korony

Autumn is probably the best season to visit the Pieniny National Park and to hike to the peak of Trzy Korony (Three Crowns) as the nature  with trees in all these wonderful autumn colours  is simply exquisite then.

We entered the yellow trail very early in a village called Sromowce Niżne. Dense fog was still covering the mountains completely  it was lovely to see how the sunrays start to get through it only around 8 a.m. A must-stop is Przełęcz Szopka with breathtaking views at the Tatra Mountains. It's just a perfect spot to have breakfast or to rest before climbing the top of Okrąglica, the highest peak of Three Crowns (982 m). You shouldn't miss it, as the beautiful, vast view at the Tatras, Beskid Sądecki, Gorce Mountains and Beskid Żywiecki are worth the effort.

You will not find any mountain hut on this trail, but when you go back down to Sromowce Niżne, stop for diner at Schronisko PTTK Trzy Korony. The regional food served there is very affordable and delicious. It will surely warm you up after the long walk in the forest.
